Sexten - Hiking
Anyone who has ever been to Sesto knows how numerous and varied the hiking possibilities are there. Since the Sesto Valley forms the border between the primary rock and the Dolomites, you can hike on one side over alpine pastures and overgrown hills and have the whole chain of the Sesto Dolomites as a panorama opposite. On the other side you are surrounded by the rock faces and peaks of the Dolomites.

Depending on the weather conditions there is still some snow until mid-June, sometimes even until the end of June in the high alpine area, but even in this time many hikes are already possible: Fischleintal, Innerfeldtal, the sunny side of Sesto with the Lärchenhütte, Jägerhütte, Hahnspielhütte, Helm, to the Sextner pastures.

For those who do not necessarily love the hustle and bustle and especially for nature lovers, early summer is the ideal time when dandelions, marsh marigolds, trollflowers and buttercups bathe the meadows and fields in a bright yellow...

...and when the alpine roses bloom, whole slopes glow a bright red.

With the summer comes the climbing season and the advance into the alpine regions. Deep blue mountain lakes, enormous rock faces, countless towers and rock needles, alpine flowers in all colours, they make us marvel and reverence nature.

Hardly any other area has so many hiking possibilities to offer as the Sesto Valley and its surroundings. Whether on steep mountain paths, ...

... or simply comfortably through green meadows and forests, everyone will find something to their taste.

Some of the Dolomites, including the Sesto Dolomites with the Drei Zinnen Nature Park, have been included in the Unesco World Natural Heritage.

The mountains are close enough to touch and there is a different view from every side.

When autumn pours its colors over the landscape...

... and the first snow has already sugared up the mountain peaks, hiking does not have to be over by a long shot. It has become quieter again, the days are a little shorter, but the view is often fantastic.
